On 1 February 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union, which resulted in the EMA leaving the UK and moving to Amsterdam and many ongoing activities and discussions relating to Brexit and its implications across different sectors.

Although some new and amended regulations were published by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in December 2020, some regulations have been updated and published later than the Brexit deadline.
