DIA Europe (30th Annual EuroMeeting) 2018

DIA Europe 2018 brings together key health care stakeholder groups, such as industry, regulators, pharmacovigilance, and patient advocates to discuss and share insights. 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the EuroMeeting and will host 1,500+ global health care professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device communities.

In today's medicines development, decisions along the value chain are much more complex and increasingly take the end game into consideration. Take for example, (1) the Evidence Generation strategy that needs careful planning and execution during development in order to support pricing, reimbursement and product-positioning decisions at launch. It ideally also provides quantitative thresholds for evidence that could also be applied later in the post-marketing phase to support the gathering of relevant real world data to support Value Demonstration. Another area of increasing linkages is (2) how Translational Endpoints are influencing regulatory decision facilitating full utilisation of adaptive pathways. Furthermore (3) regulatory strategies and decision making nowadays are hardly successful without taking the dimension of Therapeutic Value over standard of care into account.

For the reasons mentioned, important decisions along the development value chain have to be made by inclusion across several expert functions that need to work together to answer questions such as "How can Precision Medicine development be executed in a cost-effective way and deliver compelling endpoints in small populations?", "Can Regulators and HTA Bodies Create Synergies for Patient Access?", "How Can Better Outcomes Be Enabled by Big Data?".

DIA is pleased to announce that DIA Europe 2018 in Basel will focus on these strong interdisciplinary links through themes and sessions that combine experts from different disciplines. Engage and Exchange sessions at DIA Europe 2018 will go beyond conceptual discussions and information type sessions and will allow attendees to jointly develop actionable outcome to be applied in their day-to-day work.
